CeeCee is at it again. She easily flies over the border fence and goes into the front property (near the highway) I have to chase her down and make her go back over. Talking to her about it just doesn’t seem to be working. There’s nothing in that yard but trouble. I feel bad if I have to lock her up if I go somewhere!

I’m trying to explain to CeeCee that the bowl of seeds,(scratch) is what chickens are supposed to eat for treats. Not pizza, or canned corn, not ham sandwiches or ritz crackers. But she doesn’t understand that I guess

Little one here is a Pullet. She’s so cute and that tail is so soft I just can’t help but pull it!

They are so darling I just love the tiny little fluff balls of silkies saying 'yup we belong up here with the big girls!'


I think you mentioned possibly putting a roost bar on top of the nest boxes - given that you have a few SFH 'roosting' there - I think that is a good idea. It will also give them a second roost in case someone 'patrols' the other roost like Aurora would at times!

Yes, that is the plan and with 8 more silkie chicks on the way in June, I will likely need to get that done sooner rather than later. I am actually fully impressed with those tiny floofs, they may be tiny “not-chickens” but they are also not the lowest in the pecking order which is truly an impressive achievement.

Yes they were looking out the window! I really do like the new coop. All the light in there is great.

You all have probably noticed by now, that I wear the same blue shirt in most of the pictures I take.
That’s my indoor chicken shirt.
Kinda like Mr. Rogers sweater and sneakers (except for the poop)
The kids love to peck at the buttons!
