I’m not sure that you all understand my predicament.
I have 20 chooks, they all want the food I supply. Even my freezer is quickly emptying of steaks and shrimp. And the chooks are growing bigger, while my wallet is getting smaller.

I also remember - and how mad I was at that Vet.

We forget vets are only people like us & not perfect gods... although it seems like they are when I need mine for a sick bird. We lucked out that our vet grew up around chickens.

Have to say I am very happy with the chicks I got at Peavey mart, if I could get chicks from Hoovers myself I would.

Butters and Goldie a couple of buff Orps from Hoovers.

It's so peculiar to me how everyone loves their Buff Orps or Australorps. My neighbor had a bully Buff Orp in her flock & my BYC friend had a bully Austrolorp so I shy'd away from any Orps. Then we ordered 2 Buff Leghorns which we suspected the breeder used Buff Orps for his breeding project since he was trying to breed out the brown eggs from his Buff Legs line. Our Buff Leghorns turned out to be aggressive flockmates & we had to rehome them to a neighbor's layer flock
