Crazy Aliss. I can't remember who started the biting, Esme or Aliss, but they both do it ALLLL THE TIME! And of course they get a reaction out of me because it hurts! Dangit!

At least the chickens are active during this heat wave, so I know they're not dying of heat exhaustion... Having to refill their water every few hours because it gets hot isn't fun. They're sticking to the shade of the edge of the woods. I sprayed down a big patch of ferns for them to lay in and cool off if they need to. Poor Esme wants to lay an egg but it's sweltering in their coop and she's panting like a dog! It's about 10⁰ cooler in the shade and there's a nice breeze, at least.

But my lord, enough!

I’m not sure that you all understand my predicament.
I have 20 chooks, they all want the food I supply. Even my freezer is quickly emptying of steaks and shrimp. And the chooks are growing bigger, while my wallet is getting smaller.

You love every single one of them.

But he sure needs practice!
