You are a strong lady if you can give up Marble.
It's hard, not gonna lie! I have told myself every day that I'm just holding him. I'm definitely going to cry in the car when I give him to his new owner. But...I will be getting some Marble kids when he's settled in and breeding the new ladies...

Are you one of those HOA Karens, RC? :lau
Tax please. I'm not Karen, I AM THE LAW.

That's a little scary 😨
It sounds worse than it is. If the 1st telltale white spot dry pox is noticed & treatment begun right away w/ ophthalmic antibiotic ointment its easily treatable. It's only when ignored that it can turn into wet pox.

Over the years we've had 4 hens to treat w/ our Ginny having the worst case w/ spots all along the inside soft skin of her bottom beak. It looked worse than it really was. The important thing is to keep ointment on the spots to prevent infection as the spot scabs heal & come off. Don't pick off the scabs as they come off naturally w/a wet cotton pad when they're done healing. It's just like human "chicken pox" ~ then the chicken will have immunity to pox the rest of their life.

Now that it's mosquito season I'm more aware to watch for any white spots on the 3 newest girls as the older ones have all had pox before.

Our poor chickens, like Ponypoor says, have so many issues in life for such a sweet animal.
