I was shocked by the sharing of the feeder too. Everything before that was more what I usually see.

Flight capability: another type of flying machine would be based upon bees and their flight capabilities vs cargo hauling vs distance for their size. Only down side: they can't fly in rain.

“They can’t fly in rain”? Then buy them little yellow rain coats! I shouldn’t have to think of everything! :th

I easily have to put away 2 doz. + chooks each night because they roost 8-10' high! in trees and on top of fences, etc.:idunno It is what it is!:idunno
Darnedest places they pick to roost ~ the Phyllistines on chairs, Ponypoor's on top of doors, yours in trees... DH found our Silkie Keiko comfortably roosting on our side porch push broom❣️

That looks great. We live in the country on 5 acres. We put in a 100'x50' fenced yard for our girls. The fence is 6' and we buried rock under it. It's kept everything out, except hawks, but the roos keep a good eye out for those now.
Here's a video from 2020, it shows the chicken yard. .
That's super! & yeah, keeping out predators is always the goal best we can. We thought our 6 ft block wall w/ added 1-1/2 ft privacy fence on top would be enough to discourage ground predators but a wiley coyote used a neighbor's roof to jump into our yard pre-dawn. DH from our kitchen sliding door saw it in the yard & called animal control who caught it w/i 45 minutes of the call ~ all done before 6:00 a.m.!!! That's why we are so happy to have a Fort Knox coop & run for our hens' nighttime protection cuz we aren't zoned to keep roo's.

In the wild ~ horses roam & run for miles. I can't imagine what boredom domesticated horses experience when confined in fenced pastures or stalls. Sometimes I wonder how bored my hens must be in the same yard day after day. Yesterday, bored Ginny tried to reach a ripe tomato thru the protected bird netting over the raised garden bed. DH rescued a couple tomatoes before she could reach them or get herself tangled in the netting. Watching pets is like watching out for human toddlers ❣️

This is why when they were young I rode every day. And would go for hours.

I also taught them tricks and hid things to eat around the paddocks.

This is why Truly is bad - she know how to open doors and if she can’t open them she breaks them. Brats I tell you brats all of them!

It’s also why I have all sorts of stuff for the chooks to do in the barn, things to hop onto digging in the stalls for hidden grains or horse poop I may have missed. Hunting for food is good enrichment.

Thank you and you're welcome!💗 I thought it was too. Such amazing little creatures. 💗🐝

I had planned to use this yesterday for Pony Sunday but didn’t get around to it.

When I was heading out the the truck I walked through some clover and wild flowers, my neighbour’s bees were visiting busy gathering nectar and pollen. I tried to take a photo but they are so fast - I managed to get one - con you spot her?

She’s almost in the centre of the photo. She really blends in with the background.

This is Walnut. She’s always the first to come running if she hears me cracking fallen walnuts under my boot.
Hmmm, me thinks you are a bit confused. She comes running because she wants walnuts.
She’s a sweet girl.
?sweet? She just knows 'what side her bread is buttered on" 🤭 🤭 🤭 🤭 🤭

Sometimes if I see her following me I just start looking around for any unearthed nuts just for her.

Don't you just love how they train us??:lau🥰:lau🥰

My entertainment all night was Elsa. She is a smart little lady. Squawked my ear off, but sadly I don’t speak the game bird dialect. This morning we had oatmeal with strawberries. And after that, I gifted her an ear of corn. 🌽
Life would be so boring w/o pets... & you have such a variety to choose from for entertainment ... or comfort 💕
