What are the genetics of you cross a Chocolate Orp and a Lavender Orp? I wonder what colors you get from that.
There's a Mauve color I've run across mention of.....possibly the effect of washing chocolate with lavender (being as it affects any color rather than just black like the blue/splash one does).

Edit:
No. This is what gets mauve.

Hmm...

Post in thread 'Understanding Orpington Genetics - Buffs, Lavender, Chocolate, Black, White' https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...r-chocolate-black-white.1576140/post-26776885

Chocolate can be chocolate dun which functions like BBS but with khaki instead...? :idunno :caf

I want to say I've been feeling okay but not really to tell you the truth. I've been going through some health problems. I appreciate the compliment on Tony. Those feathers are quite lovely. How are you doing? How are your chickens?

Happy birthday, Hattie! The many times I remember Grandma eating cake is hilarious for some reason. You got to have a chicken enjoy some sugar at least once. I'm thinking to get Tony in the sweet spirit. I tried giving a cookie crumb to Hawk and she didn't seem interested. When I get the chance, I'll find a picture but I definitely have a video of Grandma eating Old Man's birthday cake.
I'd love to see that.

Looks like you need stall nets instead of ropes. Possibly reinforced with stainless steel. :lau

Did you ever manage to catch him? I really hope he is ok, poor little thing.

I won’t trim the comb, but will definitely be trimming feathers as needed. So far they don’t seem to be getting in his eye, they just block his vision a little on that side.

I was seriously thinking about selling silkie hatching eggs, or possibly even day old chicks. But am not sure if that comb means his genetics aren’t very good. Even before his comb started doing that I knew they would only be pet quality.

Thanks to everyone who commented on Orchid’s comb. I thought it might be a rose comb but that little nubbin at the top had me confused.

I have not been able to catch him. He’s an enigma for sure. He won’t come close enough to catch, but when he is close, he’ll always be just out of reach and so fast 🏃‍♂️ it’s impossible.

This clever fluffy butt just laid her first egg

(And now I feel like a total pervert for upskirting a chicken)
