Thirsty Thursday
Broody Piglet enjoying the wild water from the rain chain.
She really is a horror of a broody and I am astonished she hasn’t given up yet.

Life is hard for some people. A lady neighbor I know, has her battery that won’t start her car, and she hasn’t bought groceries for a week. I really didn’t want to drive her battery 50 miles to the dealership who doesn’t have service in my town. I won’t mention names, but I will never buy a(Chrysler)product again.

Thirsty Thursday

I was cleaning water dishes today and realized I have more watering stations than chickens.

I have 8 in total as I had already placed 2 of them back into service.

It's takes me a long time to gather them all up, clean them, and then put them back. Here is where they are:
  1. Main Coop
  2. Cluckle Hut
  3. Big Run
  4. Grape Vines
  5. Magnolia Tree
  6. Deck
  7. Patio
  8. Lilac Bush/Shed
My hens have no excuse for not drinking. 🍸 🧉 🍷 🫖 🥛

How many water stations does everyone else have? Am I crazy?

Love these!
Right now we use buckets and rubber feed bowls in the main pen & enclosed pen. I need to repair our barrel waterer, it's in their enclosed pen.

It's been my experience, when flushing out the containers they run over and start drinking water on the ground, not from the clean containers...lol

Marie, if my life is so perfect, then why do I lose so much sleep? So many worries, responsibilities. It’s not just about me. I keep many people employed. Paul is the best backup manager I could ever dream of. My little church keeps me comfortable, with their bbqs, potluck meals and fellowship. I keep my yard man close too. He keeps my gardening business alive. The handsome guy is me! HahaView attachment 4181676

I only have 2 water stations, 3 if it's extra hot out. And 2 of those are in the run. I should add more to spread out throughout the yard when it's so hot...

Dreams of Air at 500m :love long distance trips without refueling. Maybe even getting to meet Marie in England face to face.
Hawaii trips would be easy. Continental United States coast to coast would be a breeze. Even Bob has an airport close by.
Hey there's a few airports near me too! Come visit and I'll send you home with allll sorts of yummy snacks.

Tax, chicken snacks.
Also Chocolate is now laying...she's been swooning over Riddick all day.

We had such a nice break from the humid heat and today it's back full force...

At least the humidity has dropped from 80% to 60% in the past hour. I'm ready for fall :th

Today's going to be a change the water every couple hours kind of day. And I was going to clean the coop but today isn't a good day for it. I don't want to get heatsick again. The chickens are keeping cool in the woods, the good girls. They know what to do to escape this heat!

I have...let's see.
1 main coop waterer
1 main run bowl
1 main run waterer
1 guinea bowl
1 Broody suite waterer

So 5 for now. Things will be shuffled around and I'll be adding at least two outdoor sources for the free rangers when I get the supplies.
A chipmunk has moved into the coop, and is currently complaining about the hardware cloth I'm installing around the bases of the walls. Darn thing is gonna get his butt kicked when the birds move in!!!
