Happy Saturday all - I have been lazing about all day, too smokey outside. I still haven't done stalls, the chooks likely ahve them tore apart the BRATS!

Mum and I went to Walmart, I needed some cortizone cream for Butters, her bald back is sun burned and sore still. While in there I tried to pick up a 15' swimming pool on sale. What a drama that was - that Walmart has absolutely horrid Customer Service, then the Assist Mngr proceeded to argue with me! Whoa Nelly! When I worked at Sears we would bend back over to assist the customer, I came very close to walking out and not getting the pool.

I did write a very scathing report on their customer service and Safety (the workers moved that over 150lb pool package with out steel-toed boots and proper equipment to move it).

Anywhooo such is the world these days, everyone is out for themselves, and no wonder people want to use Amazon, no one wants to interact with people anymore. Sad.

Of course what am I saying?! I would rather deal with my horses and chooks any day!

Happy Caturday everyone

The netted areas for the Bigs and Littles are open to each other. Now as far as I can tell the Buckeye pullets choose to spend all their time in their little safe space wire run, not really inclined to go out and explore. All in due time, or will they be there for the rest of the summer? In late fall and then winter the issue will be forced b/c the nets are coming down and everyone will be in the consolidated runs. They will be closer in size and won't be able to squeeze into places the Bigs can't go....

Here they are happily dust bathing while Hazel watches.

She has circled their run, pausing now and then to watch. The Littles are making happy sounds.

She needs to find a way in and tell them everything is in her domain and hers to control. Even, maybe especially, that little bath!

Hopping out for a snack, confident the Bigs can't fit under the special gate.

I’m full of house guests today. Some family from Arizona came to visit, and two others from Wisconsin. Seems that they heard of my newest monitory acquisition, so I will gift them all with $5.000 each, and politely send them back home. I’m glad that they aren’t my own kids, they would ask for so much more! A ibad divorce does have its merits!

Long term building project. Start with a few bricks....
That's what I am currently doing - for the past 36 yrs.... I am getting too old to be doing the heavy stuff!

OK well time to go out and do stalls, then sit on the lawn chair if it's not too smokey. The pool is too heavy to remove whole from the truck in it's box. Maybe I'll open the box and put the pool up.... Pretty hot to be slugging.... but oh the lure of the pool water is calling me!

Correction just found two Littles under the Bigs coop in the Bigs run when I went out there again. One had the audacity to climb the ladder, get on the porch, and look in! Explored the back area behind the coop and then went around into the run again. They actually are jumping and flap playing with each other, and then preened on the doorstep. They aren't too worried about the Buff Orps.
