Generations of chickens, clucking and eating and pooping away!Regarding your query a while back about the hay elevator here is what it looks like in action.
The bales are loaded onto the unit and a chain with teeth slide the bales up into the loft where we stack the hay. FYI it was 109F in that loft last month when I was clearing the loft getting ready for this year's hay, that's with NO breeze and a lot of humidity - ugh....

The loft is now filled to the roof.
Heaven help me if one of the broody brats ever got up there under those eves and tried to hatch eggs. There would be no way I would ever be able to get to them. Not without hauling all the hay out.
