Your hens truly are nutters.I don’t have the stamina for this!
At 1pm I noticed that the little orange dish of chick feed was getting a bit covered over with bedding.
You can just see poking up it in this picture - to the left of Tassel’s backside.

So I decided to go out and add another pot of feed, retrieve this pot and put it somewhere more secure.
IT HAS GONE
No sign of it. Admittedly Tassels and her army of teeny, tiny excavators have been doing some major digging.
But the thing is ceramic coated cast iron. It is heavy. Completely gone. I have raked over that whole area!
And if that weren’t frustrating enough, Pooh has moved into the Tassels/chicklet cardboard home. She is fine sharing it with the little ones and several have been in and been hanging out with her.
I don’t know yet, but I suspect she is going broody in there.
I have no idea how Tassels will react come nightfall.
Here is Pooh inspecting her new accommodations.

Turns out Pooh wanted to lay an egg. I can see the appeal as the little chicks are much less bothersome than the broody hens occupying the usual egg-laying spot.Wow, I wonder what happened to it!
Pooh just wants to share mothering duties!![]()
I showed your girls to my friend today. She is a very brittle diabetic and will be having her toes removed on the 28th, due to a blood cot, from diabetic complications. Anyway she told me she's always wanted chickens with a Phyllis Diller hairdo. Your girls totally brightened her day. There are no losers as I get to carry them.![]()
Definitely a win, win! There are no losers as I get to carry them.![]()

S=Silkies I'm afraid I'm not very creative sometimes...lolYes their hen looks eggsactly like her, and she’s a really sweetie like Gucci
Don’t know which eggs are which as they have all their hens and two Roos running together.
I had hoped for a few Hmong eggs but their Hmong aren’t laying at the moment. So the three Polish eggs and the 3 ‘other’ eggs…. Any guesses?
Works for me!socks? dirt? socks? dirt? are we gonna ignore this
