While I think the Serum are very lovely they would not do well here in the winter. Mr and Mrs LC have a hard time, I bring them into the feedroom at night where it’s around 48F. During the day they hang out under the Sweeter Heaters. And the IR lamps. The Silkies are good as long as no wind and of course no snow/rain.

In fact I find the silkies have a terrible time in the heat and humidity, their feathers are so dense.

So I will accept your answer on Silkies and say yes they are silkie eggs.

3 each or silkie and polish. Though P3 looks like a dud so will likely only have the 2 Polish eggs hatch. Of course it’s still a long way till the 29/30th which is when I eggspect them to start hatching.
Lots could go wrong.
POLISH!!!!

They are beautiful! 💗
Welsummer and Sapphire Olive Egger?
No, Hawk is an Ameraucana and Raven is an Ancona.
A New Home Base

The Phyllistines have been going to bed in their coop like they should for a while now. That is until last night.

After entering the big coop again yesterday I think they decided they would like to roost with us now at night.

That is the kitchen window behind them.

It is a long walk with 2 chickens perched in your arm, from the house, around the pool, and into their coop.
I mistaken that photo for a digital drawing...
No FB, per usual but here's an up close photo of Tony again.

My wish is that Periwinkle is worth pampering ❤️
She is but she's a lil dumb. I gave her a tub nest with 4 real eggs, dern girl ran off and gathered up her fakies in a different box. So she's sleeping in Riddicks coop tonight. I need to get her to at least stay out of the high nests, or I will be forced to broody break her.
The point of the tub nest is so she will bond with the new eggs and I can move it to a shorter coop. So it's important she be willing to use it!!!

On the plus side, the chicklets are happy to put themselves to bed. Two more weeks and then they'll be off heat and I may go ahead and put them in their integration pens. I'll look into it more...

There's an article about broodie hens. It includes a part about "grafting" a broodie to a different nest site.
