DH did the gardening for me the past two seasons... between doing laundry, shopping, cooking, cleaning, bills, taking care of me & the chickens, the garden & yardwork got only his cursory attention so not the neatest job

This will blow over. I don’t want to risk catching any additional germs from any hospital or the clinic. I actually drove my car back from town today, because I felt able enough to do it.

Don't pick too early to ripen off the tree. We wait for a light blush of color on the skin but fruit is still very firm...then pick to ripen at room temp. You'll get a feel for doing it after a while. I accidentally cut a branch w/ a half ripened grapefruit on it & tried leaving it on the cut branch to ripen but the fruit sadly was a little too young/green to develop more & just dried up. Sometimes I accidentally prune a tomato vine w/ robust but unripened green tomatoes still on it... but the fruit will usually ripen to red w/i a week if left on the cut off vine.

Tomatoes I have no problem ripening on the window sill. As long as I get them before the chooks do!

They have learnt that they can stick their heads through the 2” holes in the fencing, reach up, and pull the tomato vine down with the fruit on it! Brats!

I have a lot of catching up to do (paying them the attention they require) Iv’e been inside all week and they need affection. Especially Mr Wyandottey Xzit and Coco.

I've been out with the chickens this morning and got some new pictures. I think we need to talk about my white silkie Calypso. I believe a name change may be in order dang it. While there is definitely no attempts at crowing yet, and Calypso is the 2nd smallest I am seeing things that cannot be ignored. They hatched May 7th to May 9th so just over 3 months old now. Still a bit young as far as silkies go to attempt crowing anyway. It's the tail and the head poof that are doing it for me. That and what I spotted today when looking up close at the comb, color changing already. Yes I let out a string of curse words after a real close look at the comb. Now, regardless, he's staying, I'll make it work somehow, but I am open to name suggestions. He's still a sweetheart and very friendly. I would almost name him "Brad" after the late white silkie "Useless Farms" had. Brad was a jerk though, I'm almost afraid to use it and Calypso turn into a jerk after his namesake. I'm still very tempted anyway. I loved Brad and his jerkiness from afar.

Prince is another name I'm toying with after "chookens" lovely sweet white boy.

So friends, who is he? Is he Brad or is he Prince? I'm also open to suggestions for this little guy.

Good day to dear lovely lady.
You caught me on my way out. I’m flying Marie to South Bend today. Going to see Hannah (she’s desperate again) and my wonderful friend Dianna is going to watch the chooks. I love my animals very much, it’s so hard for me to leave them, but humans are different creatures all together.
I love this picture of Gizmo:
