Why do you feel sorry Sally? I didn’t mention my majority of money came from stocks and bonds, after she left. It was uglier for my family that told me “This is the one and only”

Zebra chooks - one of my favourites!

Erma is a beauty for sure ❣️ I love the cute names breeders give their color varieties ~ Paint, Splash, Silver, Ermine, Mille Fleur, Porcelain, Tortoiseshell, Lavender, Blue Laced, etc etc... so exotic teehee!

Grey
Black
Brown

White…..

That’s my colour palette!

Aliss was bit by a dog today. She's resting now. There's a puncture wound clear thru the skin but not very deep into the muscle. I flushed it with epsom salt water. Tomorrow dad and I will recycle cans and pick up antibiotic ointment with the cash. She's weak on her right leg and just wants to lie down, but she's eating and drinking between naps. She's hanging out in the garage with us 😊

I don't want to bother her right now so I'll get pics of the wound tomorrow when I flush it again. It hardly bled, it's just a hole in the skin and slight damage to the muscle. She's missing a lot of feathers. She had a prolapse when I first found her but it corrected itself almost immediately.

I'm not angry at the dog or her owner. I know the risks of free ranging, no less in a rural area with a lot of dogs and other predators. She's a good girl and she was just being a dog. Aliss is alive, sore but alive, and she has a good chance at recovery. That's what matters.

It's been a long day for poor, sweet Aliss.

So glad she's okay. 💗 Do you have vetrycin or is that what you're buying? It does an amazing job.

Awww. Poor dear. Hope she makes a full recovery.

I am too! If the store has it and if we have enough money we'll buy it. Otherwise we'll just get some triple antibiotic ointment.
I was going to say, if it is through and through and skin not muscle then good irrigation and triple antibiotic ointment is likely all you need.

If you can get some peroxide, you can flush the wound with that. Puncture wounds are notoriously bad for infections.

Good luck, she looks comfy so hopefully she’s just bruised up.

And also, yes I do blame the dog’s owner (and by extension the dog), they are supposed to be controlling their animals at all times. You spend a lot of time and money on your chooks, it’s not too much to ask for people to keep their dogs under control.

Sending hugs to both of you.

:hugs
