Chicks from the Disc
Here's the puncture. I'll still try to get better pics tomorrow. It certainly could have been much worse!

One of the Marans boys. They spend so much time in the woods, they end up over at my parent's house a few times a day.

Make sure to flush it out with peroxide, the oxygen in the peroxide will help get rid of debris and help get rid of anaerobic bacteria. Those thrive in wounds that lack oxygen like puncture wounds. Here's the puncture. I'll still try to get better pics tomorrow. It certainly could have been much worse!View attachment 4206717

Ooooh a dalmatian chicken!! So pretty

She should do fine, just keep her warm and quiet for a few days. If you have some Tylenol (liquid infant stuff, you know) you can give her some for pain management.
I wouldn’t do aspirin just in case of any bleeding you cannot see internally. Aspirin is a good anti inflammatory but in this case it’s also risky for being a blood thinner. But Tylenol is fine. It 10mg/kg of weight. An average hen gets .25ml (the syringe in the box has a measure for that).
Ok - you’ve got this, you did all the right things right off the bat at the start, keep doing what you’re doing. Sending hugs to both of you.

Maybe keep a friend in with her.Thank you
I think we might have hydrogen peroxide. If not I'll get some tomorrow. I'll also get liquid tylenol and the triple antibiotic.
Right now she's walking (limping) around and lying down while the other girls forage. She's alert, picking at the grass. I'm going to keep her in the garage for the next few nights to keep her from jumping up and down from the roost and so the others dont pick on her.
