Pony Sunday

I'm turning Pony Sunday into Shrimpie Sunday.

I really tried to get good pictures and a video of the little shrimplets. They are still just too small. They are right at a week old. I saw Momma shrimp last Sunday morning still berried. Monday afternoon she was out in the tank with no eggs. I did not spot the babies until Tuesday. The first day I counted 4. This evening I spotted 8. They have doubled in size but are still very tiny. Still not the size of guppy fry yet. I am sure there are more hiding as momma had way more then 8 eggs. I figure in another week at the rate they are growing they will be all over the tank and easier to count. Right now they are staying next to the green ball and plant and on that black wall of the tank. I've purposefully not scraped algae off that wall for the shrimp and snails.

This was the best I could do with pictures. I tried to video but they just do not show up.

I have also been super cautious with these little shrimplets. I've kept the tank light off most of the time. I know the adult shrimp and the snails will not bother them. If there is any danger of them being eaten it is by the ember tetras. I'm also feeding twice a day now so the tetra's are full. So far they do not seem to bother them.

Your baby shrimplets are so cute. But is it fair to the rest of us who only have (or had) horses? Most of us haven’t had the luxury of a watered domicile Featuring baby shrimplets.
I had a salt water aquarium once with a seahorse in it (maybe that would have counted) but that was long ago. That seahorse hit the dusty trail and rode off into the sunset many years ago.

Here it’s 23:15 late by most standards. But I heard Coco Bok boking in the other roo I gave her and the other birds a midnight snack. That ear of corn I have been saving in the fridge. I know it’s not as exiting as hatching baby shellfish, but the thanks I get from the look in those thankful eyes was worth it.

So sorry Marie. I know she was family to you. She was such a sweet hen. She was up there in age but you loved her obviously!
No words can describe the feeling of loss and possibly guilt you are feeling, I know you Marie. You probably think that you shouldn’t have left her there at the sanctuary, but as I consoled you before, you did right by Princess. Giving her other friends she could enjoy in her final days of life. You did right, so never forget that!
Sweetheart, anything less would be selfish of you. IMHO.
You could always come live with me. (Plenty of room and lots of other chickens to love) just saying.

She needed to be with others and was so happy. But she'd always had access to cayenne pepper with me. And that's good for the heart. So you're right, I feel really guilty

Who knew shrimplets could be as stressful as chicklets! I will go online today and fall down the ‘shrimp rabbit hole’. Seeing as how I won’t have FBA to peruse

You need a nice aquarium, a small one with some colourful fish to just sit and watch. Like the chickens!
