The Polish duo received a couple hrs of scratching around this afternoon, in Lulu’s stalls - they were digging and scratching, running and flapping about.

It was wonderful to see them doing so well, and it makes me more sad I was not able to get the other two also.

They don’t seem very bothered by me, they were more interested in the bugs and spiders.

Sure hope they are both pullets. I put them at about the same age as the Noirans maybe a week older.

Just finished up evening chores and notes polish 1 coughing again, I may dose her with Tylosin directly again to ensure she is getting enough of it.

And she may just it be clearing out any crud from being more active this afternoon. Like we would be when we have a cold and we get out and about and we start coughing.

At any rate not much I can do but keep her on the Tylosin. If they are eating and drinking I am happy with that. Their crops are full. Let’s see what tomorrow brings….

In the great blueberry wars of 2025, there are few losers but one clear victor. Unfortunately he has very bad manners!
Mr. Chips will take blueberries from my hand without hesitation. He will also take them from Tassels. That is OK, both of us are happy for him to have them.
However, he will also snatch them out of the beaks of any other chicken that scores a blueberry. This earned him lots of blueberries as well as some bad tempered pecks from Calypso.
Mr. Chips may be a boy, but he is certainly no gentleman!
I hope this doesn't bode ill for what is to come.

As he gets older - he will learn manners - 'kids' aren't chivalrous when very young- they learn it as they age. No worries - if he doesn't learn it naturally, his 'elders' will 'peck it into him' !:D

Right now, they both have pullet like coiffs! Note, I have never had a Polish - this is based soley on statements and observations of pics of polish pullets on here.....but I don't see a wild-man type head feathrs. Others can chime in....maybe too early???

So who is mummy this time? And is it in the same clutch as that one chick?

Babies galore this year ♥️🥰
The one with seven littles only comes to feed her babies. Nacho and her little one are safely in my custody. It’s a good thing too, there are many stray cats roaming the property. All I know is my birds are safe and I can sleep not worrying about them.

I really want to put it in the comment contest but maybe it's rather rude looking

😲

Awwww he is a very handsome lad - I almost thought he was a Houdan for a moment! How old is he? I would put mine at 7 weeks.

I do not see any comb or nares development, nor wattles. But I would not expect to for another couple weeks.

I did get a look at the tail feathers and they are rounded tips on both of them. If that's worth anything!

At any rate girl or boy they are here for the duration now.

Just over night, I went from 20 birds to 28 birds. I will try to get pictures later. I’m afraid to even turn around and find more. Probably all roosters too!:barnie

Are you falling for Chicken Math like me? I am afraid to count how many I have now! Too many. But I figure in the next couple yrs my old gals will be departing this earthly realm, so I need replacement overseers.

Yes, PC1 has more gold on its body, PC2 is darker.

I really need to get names for all these chicks - I now have 9 babies here, heaven help me! I am all chicked out.

It's to the point where I am going around singing Elvis' song 'I'm all shook up' and changing the words to more appropriate poultry theme 'I'm all chicked out'
🤣

Of course the chooks just look at me like I am cracked!
