Yep, an hour surgery cutting out the old broken root & suturing in a permanent bone implant, Going back in 2 weeks to remove sutures. Been going to this dentist for decades. I was pretty medicated w/5 types & the only sting was a needle in the operating zone just a tiny bit. Got the royal treatment w/ Dr rolling me in their wheelchair out to my car while nurses gave DH all the followup after-surgery instruction. So far no pain but we'll see later today... not feeling as loopy as I expected... not even twighlighty.

They don't make one-man private office dentists like mine any more out here

I don’t think it has to be a B name. I quite like Beulah, but no disrespect to your great grandmother but the name Bertha always makes me think of Big Bertha - the WWI Howitzer!
I tried many red-associated names on her but they all tend to be feisty characters and she strikes me as more calm and reflective.

I just remembered this and I think I might need to steal this suggestion and have Big Bertha be my oldest pullet's BYC name, if that's ok with you and @ChicoryBlue. She's a chonky solid girl with an attitude that's earned her the IRL name Boss B*tch and I can't be bothered trying to remember to censor that on here.

I had to argue with Rooster Cogburn tonight. He was the last one in and he wanted me to keep the run gate open, for easy access to the yard in the morning. When I called “bed time!!” Everyone came running, but he’s at that stupid stage. So is Gizmo, but Giz pays attention. Why are there always chicken issues? Drama I don’t need!

My pain continued for weeks after. So just be prepared and take good care of yourself

Having my lovely CeeCee in the house keeping me company, is a great thing, but she’s a time thief and if you ask me, I want an afternoon nap! (Nearly impossible having four roosters)

Sneak that nap in when ever you can.

She is! Thank you. I’ve come to realize though that I think she is pretty low in the pecking order. She was the last of my brown layers to mature and lay, and is - as far as I can tell - second to last above only my littlest hen, Angel. So she seeks me out a lot lately for companionship. If I’m out, and Einstein isn't occupying my lap, she will come up to me and sit with me. She’s very sweet.

Barnevelder? They're on my wish list!
