?Oh he is super handsome! What a lovely cockerel. And sounds like he does have some manners. He’s just young is all, in a years time you will see a huge difference in his attitude.Excavation adequate, needs more but enough to get the coop in place
Hanging out with the young Buckeyes

He'll eat with the pullets at the feeders, but also sometimes stands aside while they eat, waiting his turn until a slot opens up. He definitely needs more calories than they do and really gulps down feed. They're getting sardines every second or third day or so. Not enough?

Here's where he looked but then decided to wait, he first looked to get in but pulled back

Size of pullets vs Shehnai, @RoyalChick you may be interested

Here he is with Lizabel, the smallest. They're friends, although that also means that he's been grabbing her neck feathers more than others. He doesn't pursue much after she loudly screams and squirms away, which is good. The pullets aren't squatting yet and their combs aren't super bright yet.

She's the only cornish left however I have 12 other healthier looking chickensDo you have others? We would love to see them.
Oh and welcome! The originator of the thread is BY Bob, and has some gorgeous chooks.
Oh he’s a handsome wee boy - he’ll settle down as he gets older. My boys only crow in the morning and a bit in the afternoon. The hens make more noice than my Roos! She's the only cornish left however I have 12 other healthier looking chickens
Here's a pic of my rooster Kellogg
My father really wants to get rid of him because he's an extremely good crower

Thats good. I'll make sure to tell my dad that as Kellogg has really grown on me. He's a gentleroo to the hens, always leading them to food.Oh he’s a handsome wee boy - he’ll settle down as he gets older. My boys only crow in the morning and a bit in the afternoon. Roosting Adventure
The life of a house chicken is not easy. Especially at roosting time.
Where to roost?

I have a hanging weight now, and maybe a bag big enough, but haven't tried it yet. I am so tired at night these days! I don't want to try to wrangle them in the day, & I feel it might upset the trust they have in me. Gotta do it soon though, & be ready for when they really need medical care!Lovely.
