I said it in English to the neighbors son (who speaks both English and Spanish) they understood, because an hour later the birds were in my yard. Now, I’m spending time with them to get them used to me.

Thats POW-worthy. I would say calendar-worthy, it really is great! But I think the rules are you have to always have the whole body in the frame?

I’m cooking a turkey tomorrow. The church in my little (don’t blink, you’ll miss it) town, had turkeys to give away. My feathered velociraptors will love it!

Actually I was more worried that he wouldn’t learn anything because she wasn’t upset at him at all.
If he tried that with Calypso he would be nursing his wounds.

I had a Red Tailed Hawk recently dive-bomb a hen, missed, hen ran into thick underbrush, and hawk pursued on foot - right into the thick of it, until it saw me and took off.

The same Red-tail that eventually got Queenie did the same to Butters - she ran and hunkered down flat inside a thick bunch of blackberry brambles, and the Red-tail jump-flew onto the brambles and was working it's feet down through them when DH ran it off. Another day it dove at Butters who ran straight into the electric fence, and was calmly walking toward her while she panicked and flopped around against it before I ran it off.
They are completely covered by aviary netting now, and the electric fence surrounds it at a perimeter, so there's no accidental / panic running into it.

Maybe not white-water rafting! The kayak down the waterfall was pretty hilarious though. Soundtrack is good.

Sometimes I am so disappointed in my chickens. They have been so mean to Tilly that she was too afraid to come in out of the rain today.

The big girls were in the big run.

Niamh was in the porch talking to Tilly. Tilly came over to the porch but would not go in. She is too afraid of Aster and Lady Featherington to be in the same small space with them.

Why do they have to be so darn mean?
