I though Wyandottes didn’t have wattles and combs. I need to look them up again, they are one breed I wanted to get through Peavey Mart.
Wyandottes (are supposed to) have a rose comb. Not sure about wattles, my two have wattles on the small side but I've seen Wyandotte wattles with some real swing to them 🤣

(If you get Wyandottes from a hatchery there's a good chance they could have a straight comb, like Gytha).

Not opposed to wattles (rather like them) and a nice comb sets it off nicely.

No hatcheries around here carry them unfortunately 😞

Just as well though I am all chicked out!

Heading out soon from work, Topsy was not feeling well last night. And was still not well this morning, not sure if she is egg bound, I popped some calcium into her.

Want to get home and see how she is doing. And Flopsy too. I don’t see them on the cameras. I am not getting any more production breeds - too worrying for me.

It is a stretch but she is more than capable.
Piglet also though as she is playing at being a big-bad-broody she doesn’t use it so much at the moment.
I have a second feeder I am about to install to reduce the morning crowding and associated squabbling!
You have to get up before dawn to be sure of a place in line!

RC I’ve been poking for your pic - that showed what looked like a clip holding open the feeder door? I fear Lizbel hasn’t overcome her fear yet of the feeder, and she’s at the bottom of the pecking order and is too shy to even join in with someone else. Thinking I’ll get a second feeder probably.
Training them… I need to put a board or two alongside to get everyone to at least use the treadle, there seem to be possibly only two of the pullets that will brave the thing alone!

Here you go.
The clip stops it closing on anyone’s head. When small Chippy (now Mr. Chips), got his head stuck when Tassels got off the treadle.
I also sometimes use a small block of wood to hold it wide open so nobody needs to use the treadle. I do this primarily for Cookie who is still very tiny and prefers to stand between the treadle and the feed but is now big enough that the tiny crack the clip leaves open isn’t enough.
I remove both clip and block when I close up at night.
I am away over Xmas and I haven’t decided whether to risk leaving it open like that or close it up and let Cookie rely on Mr. Chips to open it for her.
