So MANY beautiful chickens popping out of that door! How many do you have?
3 roosters, 4 cockerels, 27 hens, 3 pullets

5 hens didn't want to leave the coop until after I brought in the feed bucket, so aren't in the vid.

@Ponypoor has about 3000. 🤣
Yep seems like that! Though some days I look on the barn cams and just cannot see them! They disperse about the barn during the day, but when I come home and open that barn door it like a flood of chooks 😁

They all want to tell me off, or tell tales about who did what to them…. Whatever it is they have a lot to say!

Just checked camera in alleyway and seems they are hanging out by the front door under the heater.

Earlier the silkie chicklets were hanging out on the roosting ledges,

Gomer was on the step below them, not sure why - resting maybe?

But that face! I would forgive it almost anything.
😍

Not me, she’s been trouble since she was born. I between wanting to throttle her, and then telling her she’s a smart girl. Her problem is that she is too smart.

She was in a rush to lay an egg.
At least it was 5am not 3am like the other night!

Or like Marty and her 2am flight into the abyss!

You're an inspiration to me! I got chickens so much later in life than I would have liked to. I had actually given up on getting them. Middle son set a date, sent me links of a coop and run to buy from Amazon (not great, but they got me started!) and all 3 sons got out there in our July heat and got 'er done. Forced DH's hand because he had to supervise to ensure everything was done perfectly. I was 63 at the time.
I have calculated numerous times - when can't I reasonably have chickens anymore? So glad to see that date might be later than I thought!

Figure I am good for chooks for at least the next 8 years assuming this next batch of chicks live that long. I’ll be 68 then. Might get more in a couple of years, see how I feel. Here it’s winter that dictates things, if I can manage to trudge to the barn in sun freezing temps.

So she was Truly agitated? :old

Truly an idiot! Truly drives me nuts, truly gonna thump her one…… and so on - it’s a good name for her.

Here’s one for you @notabitail : how do I make Siri have a softer, kinder voice? My Siri seems to be angry at me. (Like I’m asking dumb questions)

My computer is not allowed to talk to me. I disabled Siri first thing.

Have that google Alexa thingie - when you say thank you to it, ‘Alexa’ replies back ‘you’re welcome’. Great fun!

I don’t think BCM, looks like BSL (though that one lighter one to the right looks like a Welsummer) they remind me of Sophia and I figure she was a BSL. She was such a lovely hen, and lived a good age.
