Hatching day 25 ( Second time lucky)

Ok so .. Bad news I think :(((
candled eggs .. They all have slanted air sacs , some have the veins still and I can see the duckling but there was absolutely no movement at all.. I remember last time I saw a little flutter but nothing :( do you think they're dead ? Little Winnie is crying everyone I leave took so I'm praying at least one hatches !

One of the eggs looked exactly like the image on day 28 but it wasn't moving at all !

That's how they should look, as far as the air cell... but you should see movement. Did you tap the egg (gently with your fingernail) to try to "wake it up"? They do rest, and since the body is filling up so much space, its sometimes hard to detect movement at this late stage. I'm the eternal optimist. Don't count them out yet! Especially knowing your temps have been low. How long has it been since the first one hatched now?

The first one hatched out about 40 odd hours ago . I did tap it but didn't see anything. I hope it's just fast asleep.. Everyone say a little prayer for me.
Winnie needs a friend. Im exhausted trying to keep her company.. she cries every time i leave her! Worse than having a new born baby.
If they don't hatch , I am going to be a digital incubator but can't afford to spend a lot. Incubators are so pricey and this one was given to me as a friend so i'm starting to think it isn't working properly.

Out of curiosity, were you using a secondary thermometer also?
Good luck and don't give up yet!!!

Anything new?

I was using two thermometers but they were reading differently. No news.. no sound at all. :( I don't know where I went wrong... :'( Poor babies

I bet they suffered a horrible death . :'(. Not going to put myself through this anymore. Upsets me too much. Going to leave it few more days but I have gut feeling they have died.
As for Winnie.. im exhausted. She wants to be with me constantly. There are some ducklings due to hatch this Fri locally. Going to buy her a pal but Winnie will be a week older. Will that matter??

Was hoping more of yours would make it. For Winnie, you can try a stuffed animal and a mirror in the brooder. I hear those help sometimes. Hopefully if you get a few more, they will accept her. How many more will you get? With her being bigger, it should actually help, maybe they wont gang up on her. That young they should still bond ok.
Can't remember if you said her breed and what breed you will get? Doesn't really matter, just curious about size.
