Females do have wattles, but the don't get them until closer to laying. Plus the comb and wattles stays yellow to pale pink until they are about to lay. That's four to six months old. If you have a two month old (or younger) bird with big pink or red comb and wattles it's a pretty sure bet it's a male. Now I've had some pullets get a little pinker than usual early, but the comb and wattles stayed small. Red is definitely male. The male feathers don't come in until they're older. Vent sexing is done only on day old chicks and takes someone trained, so just ignore that other person's nonsense.
Do you think it is safe to say this is probably a male then? I really appreciate your feedback.
I would not even attempt vent sexing... seems a little invasive to me...
