Incubating Geese Eggs

Looks like she is walking? I wish I knew what to tell you. I watched a video today of a duckling That hatched and wasn’t able to stay upright the person put it into a sock with head out I don’t know how long it stayed in the sock they didn’t say but it was able to walk after. Might be too late for your little goose but maybe she’d sleep in one? Just put her food and water close enough she can get it with out drowning.can she swim? Did you get the b complex?

I got the b complex but not in time. She passed away this morning. I was feeding her myself but I’m not sure it was enough. She could not walk or get to food. Maybe it was meant to be but I feel so bad. After the b complex she looked to be doing so much better but...

I'm sorry for your loss. Frankly I'm surprised your gosling survived past 5-7 days. It is a testament to your amazing care for the baby that she lived as long as she did.

At least it is laying season now and there are plenty of eggs and babies around to get your other gosling a friend.

I’m very sorry you lost her! How’s Callaha doing are you going to keep him?
I am so sorry you lost her :hugs

Thank you guys for the kind words! I’m glad that she’s not in any more pain and I was wondering if it might have also been niacin deficiency? When waterfowl have that problem do you tie their legs along with add more niacin?
Challah is good, we are planning to take him to the farm. No light for a while now as it’s warm enough here that he doesn’t need it. He had a bit of a problem with niacin deficiency but he’s getting much better. Also..SO loud but that’s part of the package lol.

Did you start her on a niacin supplement right off? What were you feeding her?
Not right off because I accidentally got timed released tablets. It was almost a solid month before he got any but we gave some nutritional yeast in the water almost right away when we got it and now the doses are upped. I’m not sure whether to tie his leg but he seems to be in pain. Things keep going wrong it seems. I’m feeding him this unmediated milled feed.

Your talking about Callah? can you post a video here so we can see his leg and how he walks?
you'll need to upload to viemo or you tube and copy and paste here.
