Tractor Supply for extra chicks was a bust. Today’s shipment of chicks included Easter Eggers, Partridge Rocks, and straight run Buff Orpingtons. Since all the barnyard mix eggs we’re hatching now will lay brown or green eggs we held off. I was looking for bantams or white egg layers.
Boo. I hate when they have straight run of a breed I want. We saw Orpingtons there twice last year and both times they were SR.

Day 16 for quail & 19 for the chickens, so far 3 over achieving quail have hatched, several more pipped & 3 chicken pips

I'm late to this one!
I have some Legbars & Legbar×Maran eggs about to hatch tomorrow!
I just heard the first chirping from the eggs!!!

Then I have another small batch Due to hatch June 20th! 7 eggs from my flock that was killed.
I’m so sorry for your loss. I did the same thing in January after a dog got 3/4 of my flock.

Good luck with the hatch! I’ve got a few hatching today too

Woke up to the first 2 chicken chicks hatched & lots of pips

From what I have read as long as external it is fine. It may take longer to hatch since they pretty much did the internal and external pip at the same time. So don't freak if it takes a while
It has a pretty decent size hole made and I can see it breathing. I've heard of it but never seen it happen before.
