I️ highly recommend pet quality call ducks, they are small and my favorite!☺️
If I could have them, that's definitely what I'd get. One of DD's 4H buddies has the sweetest little white calls in the world and she KNOWS I want them, so she's offered. Unfortunately, they're WAY too noisy for where I live. I can have chickens, but I'm not supposed to have roosters. Shhhh! My boys are tiny bantams and relatively quiet, so no one has complained. I won't risk losing my fellas by adding a bunch of chatterbox ducks to the yard.

For those of you with June babies, I started a “waiting for first egg” thread!

Feel free to invite anyone who ordered chicks in June as well! I know it will be at least 4-6 more weeks, but I am getting excited anyway, and thought it would be fun to cheer on our girls together and interesting to see what breeds lay when! 😊

I can’t hatch again until the spring, but this will be a new fun countdown!

I'm in! between June and July HAL or purchased chicks (same hatch dates as HAL) I have 23 pullets. The absolute soonest I'm expecting eggs is the end of October (16 weeks). My best bet for early eggs would be my June HAL barnyard mixes: (1) RIR mix, (1) Brahma mix, (2) Wyandotte mix.

What a great idea to follow chicks from hatch to lay! Love it!😍

My only June chick from the hatch-a-long is a Silkie and mine do not usually lay until almost 8 months! But here she is now at 2 months of age. Only 6 months to go!🤣
