Malpositioned/shrink wrapped duckling?! HELP!

I agree, I would bet the actual temperature inside the incubator is much lower than the unit is reading.

Also, I have hatched young pullet eggs before, but until they work out all the kinks in their system, its better to wait until their eggs are full size and consistent. My theory is that sometimes the yolks are too small, and/or the shells aren’t fully developed the way they need to be. Things like that can cause them to die and we can’t always tell why.

UPDATE: I have one that has internally pipped and cracked/chipped the shell!! It has not gotten through the external membrane.
Wait! Do nothing.

The chip was made with enough force to practically throw a piece of the shell... so I would imagine it would be too... I just can’t see it and I don’t want to open it.
Go shopping.
