I have read and responded to many, many posts about broody hens and how things went wrong or about less than accurate or ideal advice that was given. So I decided to write up an article on how I manage these lovely additions to the flock.
For me at least, the absolute best time with chickens is watching a broody hen do her thing. And I also have bald patches from the CRAZY broodies that constantly have me on my toes and them in the clink. Beware the bantam hen!

Not true!! There are lots of people here that write a much better article than I.
I've been wanting to write that article for a while and got pushed by a pack of enablers into letting my hen set again when I wasn't planning on letting anyone set this year. So I figured I'd enter the contest. Why not?

Just a note, it's "weaning", not "weening".
