Official Squatch Watchers

It's actually standing water for now. The ground won't hold anymore. Sandy soil here though it will drain away by this evening if the rain stops. Also a note about your most recent loss… This needs to end! I am so sorry! If she is frozen I would triple bag her and set her aside for a few days to get some decent weather.
I would love the opportunity to perform a few trial necropies.

So sorry, Misty and Cappy. Here's hope that today turns around for you both :hugs

We seem to have lost another chicken. One of the brat pack. DH did the coop(s) and run today, since I can barely lift my arms (ok seriously, how hard did I pull that damn chicken?!?!?) and found her wedged between the roost and nest box. Frozen solid, so we don't know what happened yet. I'm not sure if we're quite up to the task of doing a defrost and examination, simply because there isn't anyplace we CAN defrost her, except inside the house... and that's gonna be a big ass NO for me.

According to Google, and about 14 different maps, from the years 1990 until 2015, I am located in zone 6... wait, no... zone 7... wait wait wait... no... zone 6b... wait.... 7a... no no no wait a minute... zone 6b/7a.. so, picking WHEN to plant shouldn't be too difficult... right?!?!? :th
Sorry about your loss! I have one i am likely going to have to cull, not looking forward to that. But the axe is quick. I just don't like holding it until the flapping stops.

I drop them and turn away. :hide Unless I'm doing it in the house, like I had to do for my half froze OEGB.

This is the view out my window. That white stuff is not snow, it's ice. They closed my library at 1 and different places around the area are all closing early. It looks like the road is clear enough since people are driving on it and not sliding around.

Hi all. Having sleet and snow here. Left work at noon and didn't get home til after 1. Normally a 25 minute drive. I'm making a double layer yellow butter cake with chocolate buttercream frosting. I'll post pics when I get it frosted.
Yum!! Make half regular buttercream for me!!!

I have 35 birds. 26 are female.

I am getting one egg per day.

My current oldest is three years old, and a bantam. The rest are under two.

:barnie
Taters that sucks. Mine never really slowed down went from 10 eggs a day to 6 or a day. Wonder why mine stayed laying is it because it hasn't got really cold?:idunno

Probably. I was getting 5--6 until the -25* weather started.
