Official Squatch Watchers

So, I have noticed that 1 or chickens has had some diarrhea with blood. I have been treating them with Corid for a few days. Well, now I am noticing a few more with it today. I was going to take a stool sample, but Vet closed at 11:barnie Also, I think a couple of my Silkies are wasting, but we know what that probably is :(
Any ideas for treatment or wait until Monday?

Finally got my pictures uploaded.

I've been trying for the past hour to upload some chicken pictures I took earlier this morning. They kept failing. I finally got them all loaded.

Here are the Cockerels that are on Death row for today. I will process them later today after I get the Milk Drinker down for his nap.

It looks like Chicken Surprise is a purty little pullet!

But, she is definitely not all Buff.

This BSL girl is HUGE she is as big, if not bigger than her cockerel brothers. I think her Mama was one of my Dom/Buffs with that coloring.

This little pullet is about the same size as chicken Surprise. I think her Mama was a pure Dom and she just has a little red from daddy.

This handsome little fellow HAS to be from one of my Dom/Buffs. His highlights are buff colored and he has a single comb, meaning his mother only had only one copy of the rose comb gene. The other two cockerels in the bunch were more flighty and harder to catch. So I didn't take pictures of them.

I noticed a nice hill in the back ground...perfect for the MD to roll down! :woot

Take pics of the death row boys...when you process them!
There are not enough pics of that process here on BYC.

How much Corid are you using?
Have you given them a "drench" dose straight to the beak?

Hey Serama Suzi (and good morning Squatchers!) :caf

I know you already told me, but where are you getting yours from? Are you getting eggs or chicks? I think you said from someone on BYC, but that was a million posts ago....
Not a BYCer....it's a lady that's friends with the lady that I bought all my chicken from. She lives near Cleveland. I'm getting chicks a smooth white rooster and 2 girls. A smooth white and a frizzle white

Did you ever hear of them? The pasties?

I wonder: Do any of the Squatchers have (or had) Seramas? I really want to learn everything I can before I get this breed. Because DH is like "absolutely no birds in the house" and I've heard conflicting stories of how cold hardy they are, if you have to have a separate heated coop, etc.

What's your plan for housing yours when you get them, Suz?
I'm having a coop built. Insulated and I will be putting a flat panel heater in it. From what I've been told....they can tolerate some cold ....nothing below 40.Im also going to house them with a few other bantams foir added body heat

We need pictures!

Definately.....the guy who is building works with me. He has all the wood and even 2 windows. He even has leftover metal roofing that matches my other coop. All I need to buy is the hardware and the hardware cloth. I love my coworkers
SWEET!!

I love coops built with left over woods and stuff.
