This is really messed up....you know my tatered-up job that I'm leaving (or have been trying to leave for the past month and a half!) is working at this urban high school in the 'hood....well one of my friends I work with, her husband is a cop just told me this. I don't watch the news or listen to it, because it just depresses me. Apparently, the kid that did it is in my school, and the cops came today and arrested him, right in the classroom (I called in today, as I am burning through as many sick days as I can before I am gone there).

A 10-year-old child was killed and a 39-year-old woman was injured by gunfire Wednesday night.

She said my school was on lockdown. It's crazy. We are always in the news. It's really sad. I wonder if it's one of the kids I know...I hope not. :(

Two and a half more weeks and I am OUTTA there!!!!

Thanks 21. Gonna be sad when I go back in tomorrow. I love my kids there, for the most part. Most of 'em are good kids. I have one girl who almost made it onto The Voice, she had like six auditions and has a lovely voice, real talented. My favorite kids there I call "my little chickens," lol. Most of them are good--even if they look or act tough---they're just stuck in a lousy area and/or a bad situation. You only hear about the bad stuff that happens, not the good.

I'm gonna miss the kids. I loved my job there and the fact that I made a difference daily. It's the administration and the BS which is the reason I'm leaving. I've been telling my kids "You guys are the very best part of this job, and for that I am sad I'm leaving" when they ask why I resigned. It's true.

Like I said, I hope it's not one of my little chickens that did the shootings. I suspect not.

Opened the coop this morning and Hobo the dominique was in the nest "nest isn't an actual nest,its a divot in the bedding Lulu dug out". She was doing that circling and arranging again. Her comb is puffing back up and her wattles are sagging so maybe she's going to start back, weird since she's not through molt dosent even have a tail. I'm hoping she is, the sooner she gets back to it the sooner I can incubate. :)

Oh I just love him, but Kiki doesn't do this hatching mess.
