Well, I signed up for a dozen. But it seems like I have 24 coming!! She is so generous. :love Thanks Nat!

There are 20 Serama, and 4 frizzled Cochins. Which is fine (unless you talk to my hubby, ha) cuz I'm pretty sure I can get rid of any unwanted chooks if I have an abundance; I know a LOT of chicken people by me (there are 5 backyard chicken houses on my block and going up the next street alone)

I am dying for the mailman to come!!!!!!!
I'm sooo excited for you!

:pop

I didn't get to tell you soon enough, to open outside, or over something easy to sweep! :gig

It's all good!! A huge shout out to you, my friend, for doing such a great job packing and shipping. :thumbsup :hugs :highfive: They were double boxed, wrapped individually in bubblewrap, with wood shavings and memory foam for padding. Only 2 were broken. So I have 22 in total. :)

So, this is what they look like, after I put them all large end up and sitting for the next 12 hours:

And what I have is: 4 B/B/S frizzled bantam cochins (I think they are bantam!)

9 smooth serama

9 smooth or silkied serama.

So, I am going to fire up my incubator, get a backup thermometer/hygrometer, and put maybe half under my broodies and half in the bator! Are there any special tips for slipping the eggs under the broodies? By the time the 12 hours is up it will be nighttime and dark, which I figure is a good time to do this....

Any advice you guys have is much appreciated, since I am a rank newbie at this. :)

Love ya's! :love

No, no, you're good!!! I marked the eggs with X's and O's, before I put them large side up, for when I put them in the incubator. I think that's what you are seeing, the O's. :)

Opened the coop this morning and Hobo the dominique was in the nest "nest isn't an actual nest, its a divot in the bedding Lulu dug out". She was doing that circling and arranging again. Her comb is puffing back up and her wattles are sagging so maybe she's going to start back, weird since she's not through molt dosent even have a tail. I'm hoping she is, the sooner she gets back to it the sooner I can incubate. :)
