Hi. I'm still here... just reading up about duckies and how I'm gonna sneak them in past DH.... actually... we are way past that.... he just sighs when I tell him an INTERESTING, *random* fact... like how our broody chickens will hatch out ducks.... and then I give him a VERY innocent look... and he knows the decision has already been made...... OH and geese and turkeys too.... :gig Poor Hubby of Smuv!
Christmas goose is very good. But I had to raise 2, to get my neighbor to help! One for me, one for him! You need help on Goose Day!

So, I started a thread to get opinions on the breed. I was getting the Bantam Cochins and got this thing. The breeder said it was a Crele Orpington, but she doesn’t look like any of those on he internet. BYC community thinks it is a Lemon Cuckoo Orpington. I was ONLY asking about the breed, but many seem to think it is a cockerel. She is not as red as the picture shows (she is very pale) so I am not worried...yet. (My cochins got red and faded, that changes). Unless the feathers are indicating male. This poor giant has been like the red headed step child among the 16 other chicks. Always picked on my the cochins and silkies. And she has ostrich like legs! Weird looking bird, to me anyway.

A bit young yet but I do not see anything saying it is a boy.
My orps were looking that red and developed at 8 weeks and are 100% female.
I wouldn't worry yet.
