Official Squatch Watchers

Cappy, I'm so happy for you.
PBM, you rock for keeping the little peeps toasty and safe.
Smuvey, thanks for keeping our PBM company.

Rae you're not the only one having a crap day :hugs. I really want to cry right now, but I still have stuff to do.
I’m sorry for whatever was making you want to cry and also sorry because now, it’s 2 hours later so you’re either cried out by now or things are better.
I sure hope you’re better
Because you’re always kind and don’t deserve to cry.
:hugs

Came home from Drs and passed out. VERY late *nap* lasted until 7PM!!!! :barnie

10:18PM now... gotta get some sleep as Stanley Steemer will be here between 8-9a..... first appointment of the day, they usually show up a few minutes before 8 and the rooms aren't ready to be steam cleaned yet!!!

Gnight all. Good News on yer bewbs Cappy. HUGE :hugs to everyone who needs one.

Coffee and water are hot, so are the quiche in the oven, the peaches and cream oatmeal and applesauce in the slow cookers. There's non dairy beverages in the fridge, and some gluten free French toast made with cashew milk instead of dairy. Banana bread and bagels are on the counter with the butter. I'm hoping everyone remembers where all the goodies for topping off breakfast are. Oh, there's also almond milk creamer, and for those who want to forget the day has started, Bailey's Irish Cream now has a variation that has almond milk, which you'll find in the very back of the fridge on the top shelf. No driving for an hour after, so choose carefully based on your plans for the day.

:hugs:hugs for everyone. :frow See y'all later.

Poison ivy is rampant here along with Virginia creeper , which i am also allergic to. The vines get as big around as my arm! And dead vines look like sticks. I am constantly picking up sticks, for kindling and because it is a mess around here. The oil is on the sticks. I should wear gloves but then i would be wearing them all the time when i am outside. I hate gloves but i may have to start doing that. Poison ivy is one of the many reasons i want goats.
Right now is 48 hours from when i left the hospital. My anxiety is at an all time high. Waiting for my 8 year old Xanax to kick in. You know they won't give you an Rx for Xanax any more. You can tell i don't abuse it if i have pills that are 8 years old! They think everyone is an abuser these days!
You burn poison ivy? I was always told to be careful not to burn it b/c then you breathe it in. Now I wonder if that's an old wives tale.

My heart hurts.

I found out what happened to my poor missing pullet.

I was cleaning up around the paddock. It has been too wet and miserable to do much of anything recently. Well, on really cold days, my FIL will take any shallow pan or dish he could find and fill it with warm water for the birds. One of them was a black plastic dishpan like this.

Well I picked up the upturned dishpan, and the poor little pullet was underneath, dead. She got trapped underneath and I assume she either died of cold the first night, or dehydration.

I feel so horrible. I didn't realize that something so light could be a danger to my birds.

I feel so sick about it.
I'm so sorry about your bird! I wonder if she tried to stand on the edge and it flipped over on her. I wouldn't have expected that to happen either... :(

Great news! My lesion is benign!
Best news ever!!! When it was taking so long I thought 'if it was bad they would have known by now'.. b/c fast results are always bad results, but slow ones are b/c they have to wait a certain period of time to confirm that it's negative.

Dear Squatchers,

My power just came back on, a while ago. I blogged about it,if you care to read :

Naked Chicken Yoga (Or: The One Where I Got Crapped On All Night During Winter Storm Toby, By Tiny Baby Chickens). See blog address below.

Here is an excerpt:
************************************
They nestled into me, like the trusting little balls of endearing fluff that they are. Then the pooping began. Ooooohhhhh, yeah. Birds crap in their sleep, in case you didn't know. So all night, I lay there, naked and sleep deprived, in Corpse Pose, while my fuzzy babies proceeded to rain poo down upon my boobs, chest, and abdomen, like something out of Fear Factor (Vinnie's idea of Fear Factor, as he is scared of birds, and poo). I would feel them scoot and hunch, then plop! And nuzzle their little selves back into my neck, or cleavage, and go back to sleep.
**************************************

I am SO TIRED you guys. But my power is back on, I have internet again, and my babies are all alive. Enjoy!!
You have my sympathy... when Willie was a chick and I took him home w/ me he slept w/ me. I'd try to put him back in the cage and he wouldn't shut up (too cold) so I'd bring him back to bed w/ me. I was clothed, but he pooped all night long, under the blankets on my chest. He was very cuddly back then, but now he's a turdface.
I also had several sickly babies that were from the forsaken mail delivery last spring. I slept w/ one, waking up every hour to try to get her to drink & to check on the others. That one I put in my shirt, and stuck paper towels under her since her poop was very liquidy. The things we do for our birds.
I hope you got to enjoy a nice long shower after all of that... What happened w/ the interview?

I'm so drawn out and tired. It feels like nothing is going right today.

My eggs aren't hatching.

I found out we accidentally killed one of our chicks.

We forgot to pick up our Azure order (fortunately our drop coordinator is AWESOME and is keeping it for us).

DH's back has been acting up.

My nighttime network is too slow to do a build that I was supposed to practice on and the guy I'm filling in for goes out of town week after next.

DH is getting us ice cream.... :) that will help!
Sorry you had a bad day, I hope today is better... and if it's not, toss some booze on the ice cream tonight.

Burning poison ivy is a VERY BAD idea. I think she was talking about gathering kindling from the woods.

The two times I got poison ivy the worst was when we burned logs with the oil on them. Both times my face swelled up and my eyes swelled shut. I'm not sure how it effected my lungs. Both times, my mom went to the library and got me a few books on tape to listen to. It was quite boring otherwise.

Nah, I might just make myself some "irish hot chocolate" though.

Wow! I know when we cleared the wooded area and I was picking up sticks & tossing them in the burn pit my dad told me to be careful not to pick up any poison ivy b/c it's bad to burn it. I don't get poison ivy so it wouldn't be an issue for me to touch it. My mom gets it pretty bad too so he was worried about her breathing it in. I'd assume if it is in the air enough for your face to have that reaction, breathing it in would be pretty terrible.
