Official Squatch Watchers

@WVduckchick

Are these two pure BC? Their middle toe isn't completely fuzzed but they are REALLY light and their beaks aren't dark.

I just found something scary.

I added the 8 Cornish eggs I got this week to the Brinsea. Apparently, I was only getting eggs from one of my Cornish hens because I am now getting eggs in two different colors. After I checked on the chicks I was walking away when I remembered I didn't candle the 9 cornish eggs I set the past 2 weeks. Then I saw it my Brinsea was off. It has been off for a while. I have no absolutely idea of when it was turned off. The eggs are room temperature. I believe it happened sometime this afternoon. But have no way of knowing for sure. The power strip that my incubators and candler are plugged into has individual switches for each plug. The switch for the Brinsea was off. I candled the eggs. All but one seem ok (good veining) that one had a blood ring, and wasn't as developed as the others.

At most I lost 8 eggs. Which isn't too bad considering my girls have picked up laying.

I believe the 4 non-pipped eggs are dead. Two have extremely drawn down air cells and the other two don't look right. One of the two pipped eggs hatched after some help. I could then see the issue. Its neck won't straighten out. Its still curled in the hatching position. I'm hoping it rights itself overnight but we'll see if I have to cull it tomorrow.

The other egg, I helped some more as well. It is in a bad position. It is still working its way out of the shell.

Ummm.... that isn’t where the toys belong. View attachment 1314823View attachment 1314824
I had the screen lifted a few inches to let flies out. He took advantage of it.
"Mom go get the toys. I want to play with them some more. "
I am going to be in trouble when Delilah's person gets home.
She had a grand time playing in the mud.......no I couldn't catch her. I would have landed on my bum chasing her in the slick mud.
My Zoe loves the mud. Wallows in it like a pig. She has the nickname "mud princess"

That makes for a rough day. :hugs

Hopefully the eggs that are left make it.
