I accidentally killed a cat with it years ago b/c I got a drop of on the floor and *thought* I got it cleaned well enough. Anyway.. put it in the path of where you see them, it will attract them to it, so don't be surprised if you see a lot of them. They'll drink it and take it back w/ them. I had big black ants (not carpenter) last year and they would not die, I tried 3 other poison/ bait traps. I tried to avoid using the terro b/c of my past experience, but eventually got so sick and tired of them. I found out they'd made a trail to my cupboard and found a bottle of honey. There's nothing I hate more than ants.

You probably still get a fair amt of sun these days too, but eventually we realized the risks... Since we got the chickens last year we have spent much more time outside, I got burned several times. I'm hoping I can be a little smarter this year.

I tried, but it is really difficult, it snapped off in the hole. plus it doesn't work smoothly anymore. I'd almost rather get a new one.... but I have a message in with incubator warehouse to ask what to do.

I just found that poking the control with a tooth pick works well.

We had a big huge hive of honey bees in our wall, carpenter ants, stink bugs, beetles and flying squirrels! Oh and our current plague is carpenter bees!

You can make a bottle trap for carpenter bees. I'd have to look them up but it's basically a box with a hole in the bees want to investigate then the clear bottle you put in the bottom confuses them and they can't get out.

I have seen those, but not gotten around to making some. Hubby has been smashing them. We got an electric swatter at Harbor freight which broke the first day!
