Official Squatch Watchers

Come on over, @21hens-incharge!(bring on the ice cream!)

A bear attacked the coop last night. It got April, one of the four adult chickens. She was one of the first chickens we got, back in March of last year. We'll be reinforcing the coop later today. It got in through a side door that has weak hinges. We don't use that door anyway, so we'll just be covering over it.... with wood.... and screws.... :hit
Oh no! So sorry about your hen. You might suggest to your parents to put up electric fence because the bear will come back to see if it can get more chicken!

Hello everyone! I've been busy today. My dad borrowed the neighbor's tractor that has a rototiller on it and we did this today... This is the area the chickens were on all winter. We were picking up rocks, old carpet, wires, bricks, you name it. He's going to till more thoroughly tomorrow and we are going to plant clover as a cover crop. We'll just plant our starts through the clover. Like my dad's truck?

All these outdoor projects are getting me used to being out in the sun without burning. I'm starting to get lots of freckles though!

OH RUBY!
I am so sorry. :hugs

I brought rainbow sherbert, southern butter pecan crunch, heath, strawberry and one called death by chocolate.
There are waffle cones and cake cones too.

I am thinking the electric fence is used right at the coop. A hot wire every 8" or so all the way up.
Bears would freak me right outta my skin.
