@Redhead Rae You tan like I do! In little tiny spots. LOL People laugh cause I don't tan. I burn then go back to being white. With sun block I get loads and loads of freckles.

Well folks, now for a new and interesting chicken experience....
I'm out on the deck and hear clucking really close, which these days isn't abnormal as the girls go everywhere. But I turned to look and one of my RIW hens was standing in front of the grill on the deck yelling at me... Have no idea why, but when I acknowledged her she promptly turned around and hopped down the stairs.

Ha ha! I thought it was some sort of speckled egg for a second!

Be very careful with what you use for deadly force, bears aren't that easy to kill with a bow and arrow because their fur is thick and will drastically reduce the penetrating force of the arrow. The best bet is to have DNR or DEC come out and trap it, then they can decide what to do after that. Tell them that you have a nuisance bear, and that you would like them to remove it for the safety of your family and property, and for the well being of the bear. If they think it needs to be put down, they can do it humanely and safely.

Okie dokie, coffee and water are on. Crepes and breakfast paninis are ready, as are oatmeal and applesauce. Watch out for Lizbeth and Gurtrude, they will follow you around. For the person who decides to sit in the office chair, if Gurtrude hops on your foot, she wants you to lift your leg up so she can use it as a way to get to the arm of the chair, like an elevator. Lizbeth is still trying to figure it out, and prefers to fly, which she is more than capable of. Gurtrude, on the other hand, hasn't molted in over a year, so het flight feathers are pretty ratty and don't give her much lift anymore, so she is more than happy for a helping foot. They will both peck at your leg, but it's to get your attention, and doesn't really hurt.

So a bit of an update:
Dad talked to the DEC yesterday. Because the coop is attached to our house, it counts as the bear attacking our house. the dude at the DEC didn't offer to come and get the bear, but he gave us permission to use a firearm to take it out next time it comes around.
What are you doing up so early? Are you crazy? I am only up because of muscle spasms in my quads. I suppose you have to work?Morning all
Sad for the bear though. Hope your dad has the right gun for the job.
