Ok and just saying I am not in menopause, yet......... but I sweat me booty off at night it has to be cold, like cold cold for me to get a good night sleep. My husband is the same way! I have always been that way!!
Congrats & Same. I'm plus, not meno. My bedroom shares a wall w/ the next door apt so I rarely turn on the heat in my bedroom in the winter.

Not to make light of any of the sadness in our squatchers family but I have to share this.

I don’t know why no matter what you do in life, your kids never think it’s much of a big deal or that you know much about anything.
This is a priceless comment.

that was hilarious... Unless said offspring was adopted I think she probably has the basics down.

Thanks everyone, for your kind words. I'm going to get some hardware wire to line the bottom edge of the run so there won't be a chance for escape next time. Now I'm just hoping that Loki accepts that the baby is gone and breaks broody.

Hubby discovered the 5 tolbunt polish today, and said they were pretty and nice looking birds! Yay, i didn't get yelled at for that. Hoping for the same comment about the CCL.
I told him i really liked the turkeys because they are so calm. He walked down to look at them! Maybe there is hope yet.
The cage for my Texas A&M quail is nearly done, i need to put a latch on and the roof. I want to put in a dust bath loft and ramp for them, they seem to enjoy it.
I had 2 quail lay eggs in nest boxes today! Quite proud of them.

Cappy you have an incredibly cooperative/supportive spouse.

Better hide the CLs till they grow out. I think they are horrible looking juvies, but beautiful adults!

We were sitting out by the coops the other evening. My BCMs are "the black chickens" because he won't get into learning the breeds. Then he asked about the CLs and I had to explain again that those are the ones I've wanted since I first got chickens. So why do we have the black ones, he asks. Oh, just because I wanted them too.
Lucky us to have supportive spouses.

:frowHave a good day @rjohns39 !

Good morning squatchers. Let’s hope the positive energy hovers over everybody today.

I want to go chick shopping with you guys since I’m not allowed any new ones.
I feel like if I had the space and we lived somewhere else, DH would be ok with it though. (*within reason)

:gig“Within reason”

I blame all my non black chickens on hubby. :p

Seriously I wanted just six black Australorp.

He didn't want "just ugly black chickens".

My first birds in town were 2 each of BA, CW and EE. Well the EE had laying issues.

So the search began for a couple more BA. I should have gone alone to answer the ad saying they had BA. They didn't BUT they did have some seriously picked on Hamburg, GLW and more......... It just kinda got nutty trying to get BA's after that.
For 5 years I fought to find BA's. Sold out, accidental roosters, aww but we cannot leave just a lone chick at the store etc, etc.
Yup I should have gone alone.

My hubby has grown fond of BO's, Brahmas, cochins and even my BA's.

He does think at this point that I have PLENTY chickens.

That reminds me I need to wash eggs for his boss this morning.

I have never washed eggs!
Omg:eek:
Am I gonna die from this?:th

I don't wash our home use eggs. The boss is a great guy and his wife is super sweet. I do it for them just so I don't miss a stuck on feather or bit of mud.
My eggs are 99% clean anyway.

You wont die from not washing the eggs. :)
