I think your idea of a possible snake bite is valid.
Also depending on where that poster lives , a spider or scorpion sting.
I feel like if it was a raccoon it would have grabbed harder and done more damage.
And ... do they just have chicken wire?

Yes. DM isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be.
I’d use something that I know will work the first time.

Then you could try it. Are you seeing evidence of worms or just thinking about it prophylactically?

I like the ivemectrin for worms, if they use it on people then it can't be too bad. The DE looses any kind of effectiveness it has when it gets wet and it is pretty dang hard to worm a chicken from the outside.
