Nunny, look at the inside of the eye socket in the pic. There is a white spot above the eyeball. Check her other eye and see if the same white spot is there, if it isn't, then that might be the problem.
I can’t even lift the other eye lid like I can the one with the bump. I looked at the one with the bump again and it almost looks like an air bubble. For now I’m going to keep watch. I’d hate to lance it and then her eye dries out for some reason. If it’s just a little fluid build up from being pecked hopefully she’ll reabsorb it.

It's been an interesting evening so far.

We have the big group of 21 roaming the yard. They are enjoying the freedom making a good mess of my one unplanted garden bed.

Then it hits!

Rain, hail, more rain and more hail not to mention the thunder.

Now you would think I just keep chickens OUTSIDE! Naw! I have 2 gigantic ones INSIDE! The first thought of thunder and those 2 sprout feathers and start knocking furniture and people around.
Sable couldn't give a rats rip about thunder. Those boys though! Yes I broke out the doggie downers after 30 minutes of blind panic running inside.

The actual birds? Oh them, yeah they headed for cover. Apparently it was quieter under the really big lilacs than in the coop. They are soggy but fine.

The nut cases inside are quieted down now. I gave the minimum dose. Weird cause last 4th I had to give the medium dose.

:woot For soggy streets, and less neighbors lighting fireworks.

Dogs are so weird! My parents last dog hated thunderstorms and fireworks. My Mom knew it was going to storm a good 30 min before it started. The dog would be shaking and pacing the house. She’d even suddenly poop!

Now my dogs— they may bark if it’s really loud but mostly sleep through it.
But if I run the vacuum—look out! You’d think I was trying to suck the life out of my ACD. She gets all wild eyed and pants while she hides. She doesn’t like when I clean house in general. I recently put air conditioners in the windows—she paced for a good hour.

Oh don't get me started on how these dogs despise any cleaning.
Good golly it's just a rag with plain water!! No smells or anything. I just want to clean the tv stand for crying out loud! Ok FINE take my rag you beastly heathens!

We wont discuss the vacuum.

I'll let you know when I find the dustpan. :hmm maybe under the sofa.....

Hail damage. :(

Morning peeps.
Wondering what that eye looks like today @FlyingNunFarm.
Is the eye ball itself showing any irritation?

The old dog is still sleeping off his meds from last night.
Poor thing, He was never afraid of storms or loud noises until we moved here.
This neighborhood is insane.
It sounded like I imagine a war zone sounding.
Chickens weren’t too happy either.
Puppy didn’t seem to be affected thank goodness.

Hope you all had a nice Independence Day. We went to a huge lake to do some fishing. :)

We could hear 3 sets of fireworks being set off nearby last night. The chickens were all in their coops, but the ducks were still out. They would dart a few feet in unison every time a boom happened. They finally calmed down in the pool after dark.
I also have a dog that is scared of storms and thunder.

@FlyingNunFarm look really well for mites around your girls eye too. Hope it’s going down today.
