They're so cute! What did you get? (sorry if I missed it.)

Hey, I have a question for you guys, I was wondering this before. How many chickens do each of you have? I am at 16, total, now, 13 girls and three boys. I can't go any higher than that, so I won't add until some start dying off. But I love my mixed flock! I think they are the perfect blend of everything (OK, most everything, lol) that I want.

So:

How many chickens do you have? :)
good question.. but I am not sure

26+ chicks
30+ hens
5 roos

15 poults
3 turkeys

Went to check on Lulu and boot her off the nest for a little bit. Good thing her chunk is nearly gone, she's entirely had enough of my tater but she's improving greatly. While I was in there Early came in....ok, hey Early. Then Negan....hey Negan, you being nosy too? Then Cookie...Hey, Cookie man I don't have any food. I'm just squatted down staring three pretty much identical boys in the face and their all mouth breathing! The sound was awful, if I shut my eyes i'd swear I had a dog. I'm glad they are looking out for Lulu but jeeeze.:lau

I don’t think i have ever tried it

When cooked it is a lot like spinach. I like it raw in salads too. The small leaves are really good in salad. The big ones are a bit bitter and kind of tough when raw but cook up just fine.
It doesn't bolt until the extreme heat hits either so longer harvest time.
