Hey, I have a question for you guys, I was wondering this before. How many chickens do each of you have? I am at 16, total, now, 13 girls and three boys. I can't go any higher than that, so I won't add until some start dying off. But I love my mixed flock! I think they are the perfect blend of everything (OK, most everything, lol) that I want.

So:

How many chickens do you have?

Adult chickens, 9 buff laced Polish, 6 Speckled Sussex.
Youngsters, 5 Tolbunt Polish, i Buff Laced Polish, 7 or 8 CCL, and a couple of newly hatched BLP.

ETA: My electric fence got pushed up against a guide wire for the power pole and shorted to ground... Before I knew about it the four legged predators had a field day.

I have 13 actual chickens. 11 girls, 2 boys. 4 chicks and I plan on only keeping 2 of those. Still thinking the big combed birds are boys. Hopefully I'll know for sure soon. They are LARGE velociraptors babies now. Chicken math gives me 10 b/c 1 of the grown girls is a bantam and doesn't count, & boys and chicks are all zeros in my book too.

I got 1 faverolle,1dominique,1speckled sussex and 1 buff brahma. So now iv'e got 10 hens and 3 boys so 13. I need to get rid of 2 boys and get it down to 11. Off topic but these chicks poop loud! It sounds like dud firecrackers.

Probably a little of both. I need to rebuild the flock, but some extra cash would be nice too.
