Hi everybody! Checking in.

The Milk Drinker is great. He is talking up a storm and obsessed with counting. A couple of days ago, he pointed at my chest and said "One, two!". Care to guess what he was counting? He has also started saying "milk" instead of making the hand sign for it. Last night, he said "Mommy milk" as he pulled on my shirt. This morning, as I was getting out of bed, he lifted his shirt up, pointed to his nipples and said "I milk" (he meant "my milk"). He's still as cute as a button!

My daughter, when she was almost a year old, toddled into the living room, lifted my shirt, and said DRINK very loudly. That was the last day she nursed. :gig

@Smuvers Farm I had a cough for 8 weeks a few years ago. Cracked a rib and all. Tried everything. Finally a nebulizer treatment (that made me high as tater) and an inhaler used for a few days got rid of it. No idea what got ahold of me but that finally did it.

House is going forward. I’m afraid to talk about it honestly. Every time I got excited and mentioned something house related going good it would all crash.

Under contract for a house. Thought everything was set with the bank then when my realtor reached out to move forward and the guy at the bank acted like he had no idea what my realtor was talking about. So that got switched to a mortgage company. Loans approved and going forward. Then got a random generic letter in the mail, from said mortgage company, excited to let me know I was approved for more money, a better interest rate and a break on closing costs. Of course when asked the mortgage guy said “that can’t be right” but he’ll “look into it”.

Damn right you will! And you’ll honor the letter too!

Trying to figure out homeowners insurance.

Got 2 lawnmowers. The septic will be done before closing. Plans for needed electrical updates are in the works. (Which includes running it to the coop.) I picked up yet another job to help make ends meet. I also got a small raise which is nice. Sorta sad how small when I did the math but I won’t complain.

I’m scared to death about all of it but gotta move on. Time to pull up my big girl undies and handle life.

(I’d much rather color in my blanket fort!)

Make room for me in that blankie fort womans. Having a rough rough time of it right now.

That should work just fine. If you have local hardware stores or small feed stores go in and talk to them about wire "it helps if you can hook an older man to talk to" and that will get you the best deal.:)

Wire hoe

For anyone who would like to see the house I can pm the listing. It includes the address so I don't want to broadcast that part.

The pink and black bathroom alone is worth a look. :lau:gig:lau

MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

@Smuvers Farm did you send the sicky gremlins my way? The poor Milk Drinker popped a 103 fever out of nowhere. He puked all over the place when I tried taking his temp the first time. Poor baby.

We aired out the house for 2 days, didn't know the wind was blowing your way... I'm sorry :(

For those of you outside of NJ who never heard of pork roll, this is what it looks like:

It's one of those Jersey things. I think it's made of pig scrotums, tails, toenails, and brains, or something like that. I've seen a similar item called Taylor Ham in other parts of the country. But it's different in some way. I don't know how. They had Taylor Ham when I lived in MI, but no pork roll.

Looks like fried bologna to me

I was gonna say the same thing Duckie.. looks like fried bologna.

Friends, let me tell ya..... with so many things going on... sometimes I don't know where to start or to end... kinda don't know my arse from my elbow lately.

1. Rearranging the pantry to fit a full bed, a small dresser and a telly in it, so my mom and the PIC aren't bunk mates for the *2 months* she's supposed to be visiting for.

2. Spending way too much $$$ to make the pantry into a pantry/guest room.

3. Spending way too much $$$ on a riding mower, bagger for said mower and a gas powered weed whacker, since the neighbors are moving and it's the oldest boy who mowed our lawn.

4. Spending way too much $$$ on a new washer dryer combo. Our washer *works*, but you have to slam the lid or it won't start washing, and it's not really big enough to handle our blankets. Our dryer *works*, but it takes over an hour to dry a regular sized load. Top this off with, we bought this set from an estate sale in 2005. It was time.

5. We've had almost NO eggs for a couple of months now, and we're not completely sure if it's because of egg eaters or the heat. We had a total of 7 this past week, and that's all.

That's about all.

We thought our dryer was over the hill , it took hours to dry anything, and replaced it. When the guys came to bring the new one, he showed me how the lint had clogged the dryer vent so badly only about 1 pinky finger width of opening remained for air flow. Of course I realized how very dangerous that was. But duh, :smack

Oh I can pretty much GUARANTEE the dryer needs cleaning out.... yes ma'am..... it's been since we moved in here AT LEAST since it was last cleaned (over 2 years), and the STDH has planned to clean it out for... ohhhhh, I"d say the last 3 months worth of weekends.... however, even if cleaned out, we've had our used set for over 13 years anyway... it was about time for a sparkling, brand spanking new set.

Trust me, I bought NOTHING with bells and whistles... the more it *can do*, the more that can go wrong with it.....

Now that we have a new washing machine, hubby makes the laundry detergent. He loves doing it. Who knew? Our dryer is apartment sized so it takes forever. Mostly we just hang stuff on the clothes line.

I make homemade laundry soap too! Love it! And we usually hang out blankets, towels, etc... the bulky stuff.... and we tend to *flluff* them after they're line dried.... but there are those times when it's too cold or it's too rainy to hang out laundry... so a very good, working dryer is necessary.
