Hey all, I’ll probably be MIA until Monday evening. DH, the Milk Drinker, my MIL and I are going to PA for the weekend to visit DH’s grandmother/MILs mother. DH’s sister will be there tomorrow afternoon as well. Not the sister that lives with us, but the one that lives in SC. We are lucky to see her 1-2x a year. We’ll be coming back home Monday.

Well a road trip and $325 later I have 200' of 4' tall WW. 100' of 2' tall HW cloth. 14 6' T posts and 2 36×24 windows. I'll get a $20 in store rebate too.

@apryl29 not sure it's working. Before I left today I gave everyone strawberries for a snack. Cause she's in the crate I left a few in the plastic tub they came in and set it in with her. I came home to this--

This chicken is going to kill me. She escaped through the top, which is actually the bottom, of the crate. I didn't want to use the pan that normally covers the bottom. But the holes are to big for her to walk around on. They are apparently big enough to squeeze through though.

Home depot has inexpensive plastic fencing in the fencing section. If you wrap the crate with it and hold it on with lots of zip ties it should stop the escapes.

I used 2 metal shelves with square openings over the top. The holes in the bottom of the crate are maybe 4x6. I didn't think she'd fit through. She's one seriously determined hen!

I have some of that around my garden too!
It fairly inexpensive and easy to work with.
Out in full sun you’ll get 2-3 years out of it.

Well the tree is taken care of.

I am going to go with silver lining. Losing the peach and apple tree frees up garden space. Since harvests are so sporadic with the trees the space can be more productive.

I have a great neighbor that we share our bounty with and he with us. He makes jams and jellies as well as smoking lots of great things in his smoker. He said he can use the large branch. When I went to ask him if he could he had just made peach jam.
He sent me home with a quart.

When he came to take a look at the tree I sent him home with some veggies he had not planted. I will take him some brownies later too.

He was happy to see I have a bee waterer set up, full and clean since he keeps bees.

He is a neighbor I like having around.

Likely when he uses the peach wood he will bring us some pork too. Yup he's who I will follow around if there is a zombie apocalypse.

Hello peoples! Getting ready to attend a swap tomorrow morning. A 1.5 hour swap but perhaps i can sell some critters and have fun. I have never been to Farmville, VA. Already caught a jake turkey and 20 quail. So i will be up early as it starts at 8 am.
