He is the prince of their household. No abuse. I would say some dementia, but he comes back home. He just runs off, now that he is skinny enough to get through their 100 year old fence, and goes on an adventure. He just may not be able to hold his pee and poop all the time. I think he probably has cancer or something, but no real symptoms.

I woke up at 3AM with a warm belly. Y'all know what I'm talkin about... when the pit of your stomach is warm... and you don't know if you're gonna have heartburn or GERD or reflux or gonna burp a little acid into your mouth... THAT warmth..... so, I grabbed a Zantac and a couple of digestive enzyme pills... now I'm drinking a Skyr smoothie... peach mango to be exact.... and just having some of the most random of thoughts.....

I used to party til 3 AM....... when did I get so friggen old?!? :hit

Our mouse traps have collectively caught 6 mouses in less than 36 hours. I am shocked and pretty amazed actually. DH is the one who deals with the traps though. I have a *thing* about mice. They creep me out...

Our little group should totally have a NSFR tag for some of our posts. Instead of something being Not Safe For Work, it is Not Safe For Ruby! :lau Those are posts she should skip completely. (I also wonder if her family knows she's out here hanging with a buncha old, crazy chicken curmudgeons.....:old)

This new restaurant opened up about 3 miles up the road from us.... out in BFE..... and this place makes the best friggen pies.... OMG we're totally in lurve with their coconut pie, caramel pie and FRIED chocolate pie.... to.die.for. DH got their peanut butter pie last night and I swear that was about the most DISGUSTING pie I had ever tasted.... how is this possible, when every other pie is amazeballz?!?!?

So, the weather is playing nice for me this weekend. Low 60s, patchy clouds so mostly sunny...... nice weather! I think we're gonna frame out 2 CP coops, and then work from there. Maybe even break down some pallets to start the framework of the smoker. I keep telling DH that if we, collectively, can get the bones of the project done, then I can work on the rest during the week.

I wanna go back to sleep SO bad... but I can't.... I am going to be super bishy today for sure!

I have a friend in va who's neighbor raised an orphaned fawn. On their road the properties range from small to large farms.
Lots of hunters hunt at night without permission on private property.
They posted signs and
They put an orange dog collar on him (the reflective kind for hunting dogs) and they spray painted his antlers with road marking paint in an effort to keep him safe.
Next time I'm up their i'll inquire about him.

My neighbors have signs at the beginning of the road... No Hunting. No Trespassing.
Warning: Our Deer Shoot Back!

Sounds like my parents old dog. She got to the point where she would just go. Sitting, standing, laying down. Had no control. Her eyes had that glazed look too. My Mom woke up one day and looked at the dog. She knew it was time. Even the vet looked at her and said she was ready to go.

Yes, that is what I mean about the eyes. Last night he would just stand at the corner of the living room. Just bizarre behavior.

So, they are talking about highs in the 30-40’s in 9 days!! And snow! Are you seeing similar @rjohns39 ?

I did errands last nigh and thought of more places today here in town. Nothing to report except all doggies slept great.

His waist is drawn in like he has on a corset and although his ribs are not visible, they are extremely palpable. He ate last night, so he does still eat.

I feel for ya Sassy. An aging dog is sometimes challenging.

Many years ago I took in an 11 year old dog. She had terrible seizures and was very fat. Poor old girl had been hit by a car as a pup and never treated. I got her on a good diet and her weight dropped. The seizures lessened until she was actually seizure free. She made it to 19 and had 4 years without a single seizure.
When they are ready to go it is clear.

I know you will do what you can for the doggie.

A thought so he isn't crated all the time..... Can you make a pen for him in the yard so he can spend part of the day outside?
