Good afternoon everyone,

I was lurking earlier today but didn't post. I'm currently eating lunch after spending the last hour peeling tomatoes with my mom. We have been cutting the stems and rotten spots out and freezing them. Today, we filled the sink at her house with hot water to thaw the tomatoes just enough so that their skins slide right off. Now we have 3 large pots (probably about 35-40qt worth of pots) on the stove at her house thawing the tomatoes the rest of the way and cooking them down. We'll probably put them through the food mill tomorrow to get the seeds out. I'm looking forward to canning tomato sauce this year rather than having the tomatoes go to waste.

Lots of work, but satisfying results. Good for you!

You guys....look what my hubby made me! He was working on it in the garage for two days, it was a surprise...

I'll have to get a better picture when the sun is different.

It's Lafayette! He cut it all out of one piece of plywood with a jigsaw. It is beyond kickass!

Then he made a little fence out of tree limbs, and connected it to the run. Check it out....

Pretty awesome, eh?!

Beautiful:love
Thank you! He did an awesome job of building the coops and runs (he used to build houses). One of these days, I'll have to get a bunch of pictures and put them on "My Coop." He really does beautiful work.

The original coop is a miniature of our house, down to the siding and stone facing he used when we renovated it. It's really pretty cool!
