Of course with a sudden death I get super paranoid. But this really is concerning.
View attachment 1515839 I saw him stumble a little and hock sit. There are some viney weeds growing so thought maybe while scratching, tangled up a toe. But I went and picked him up. Fought like hell and made a ruckus. So I put him down to watch him walk. He's a little unsteady. But mostly when he bends his head down. As soon as he went to peck at grass through the fence he wobbled and sat on his hocks.

Thoughts?
Any new birds recently?

Is he being bullied away from feed?

Old house. Fresh cut grass. No chemicals. Viney things are some ground cover type weed.
The only thing different was when I gave them the spent mash from my BIL brewing. I threw out the rest of it. Even if that’s not what it was I’ll always be suspicious of it so I wouldn’t feed it to them.
Wondering if I should activated charcoal him? I have seen no sign of coccidiosis. Poos all look normal. I know without a microscope I can’t see everything but he really seemed fine till I noticed that this morning.
I would not guess worms or coccidiosis. Vitamins first.

Howdy gang. Seems like I’m always 3 days behind here, but caught up for now. :D

You can get cheap microscopes online, then you can do your own worm checks. If you get the right books, you can also check for things like yeast and bacteria. Basically, if you can afford it, veterinary avian microbiology books, or microbiology that includes avian. Worms can be found easily online, the other stuff would be harder.
