I am sorry Ruby :( We are all thinking about you sweet girl.

I don’t mean to be insensitive, but I have a question that I am sure someone can answer. So I have my 3 week old chicks in a Guinea Pig cage and it is suppose to be in the 20’s the next few nights. They are in the chicken coop. How high to hang my 250 watt heating lamp. I tried to use a thermometer, but not having luck. We have had warm weather so I have kind of been winging it. 4 are feathering out and 1 is smaller and behind.
I would put it at 2 feet and see how they act. If they all clump in the middle, bring it down closer. If they all push against the sides, too hot.

Just popping in real quick!

I lubed up 1/2 my chicks' combs with Vaseline today. It is COLD, and getting colder all week.

I was cracking up while I was doing it, thinking, if somebody told me a year ago that I would be greasing up my chicks with Vaseline, I would be giving them the most clueless, -what-the-hell-are-you-talking-about??!! look. lol!

Anyway, hello and g'nite, and love to yas!

XO,
Cindi

Lots of hot messes to clean, drove up price !
Well I spent a good part of the day searching stores for glass cabachons. Finally found 2 packs of small round ones. One pack had visible defects.

What I have learned so far......

If you make a hot mess of it you can clean it off with polish remover.

Nail polish has gone up in price ..... A lot.
