The chickens only had lice once Nunny, not you. Hopefully you've never had lice and if you have.... And I hope you never get them again.

After my first year of chickens I've had little ones every year. My coop has never not had feathers everywhere! Luckily I've only had lice once.

First year i haven't had feathers everywhere. I couldn't get organic turkey so I am feeding organic chick starter... turkeys are hoovering up the feathers. I guess for the protein. Only big wing and tail feathers around and the chipmunks took a lot of those.... turkeys need to eat those chipmunks ,

I meant chicken lice. With all the feathers lice and mites are attracted to the coop. I had live once as a kid. Long before super lice were a thing. Luckily one treatment did it. No need to shave my head. LOL

The children had human lice here. It was terrible!

Iv'e never had chicken lice on the girls. Hobo came preloaded with lice, those were free they don't count. Myself iv'e had lice as a kid, long hair then too first time my mom actually cussed me lol! And iv'e been infested with bird mites also as a kid, got cussed again because she thought they were lice.

not organic.. closest organic turkey or game bird is 2 and 1/2 hrs one way
the co-op mill I was buying from closed the feed division in aug.. they used organic grains and added fish or crab meal to get the protein up.. they were 1 hr 20 min one way

Nunny Pat would be a big girl no matter what she was! She's just super impressive. She's probably going to lay parakeet eggs just to blow your mind!

My giant cochins DO lay bantam sized eggs.
Those big girls are 10+ pounds for petes sake.
